I was raised on a small ranch/farm in Eastern Montana, going to high school in Lambert. After college, and several moves, God put me in Havre, where I met the love of life, Judy, and we got married in 1975 and moved to Forsyth, Montana. It was in 1976, that God once again orchestrated our life and put us into a rental on a ranch and the landlady witnessed to Judy and Judy accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Judy kept inviting me to church, but I refused. Then in the late summer of 1976, an evangelist and a trio came to First Baptist to do a revival. I finally went and knew that I needed Jesus in my life, however, I was a really shy guy and didn’t want to go forward during the invitation. So on the way home, I was telling Judy that I knew I should have gone forward to accept Jesus, but I didn’t. Judy called the pastor, Jerry Davis, and he brought the evangelist, Bro. Burns and they came out to the ranch and they led me to the Lord. I knew from that moment that I was no longer alone. Through God’s hand, He moved us to Butte and I went to work for Montana Power which eventually became Northwestern Energy. Through the years, God placed me as the chief of surveys and line locator. In about 1994, God started to instill in me the call of preaching. I argued with Him for a time and in 2007 after a mission trip to Arizona, Judy and I were convinced, that He was calling us into full time ministry. Before that, we were convinced that we needed to fill pulpits in the Treasure State Baptist Association, as needed, which we did. We got in touch with our Director of Missions at that time, Dave Howeth, and he asked if we would consider going to Mt. Haggin Baptist in Anaconda and helping the pastor there. After praying about that, we felt that was God’s will and went over and worked under the pastor for a little over a year, as associate pastor. When he retired, the church voted us in as senior pastor and we served there for another five years. In the fall of 2012, God called us back to Butte. In March of 2013, our old church, Floral Park called us as associate pastor and we served the Lord in that capacity for almost 4 years. God led us in many ways to reach out to the community. We started tutoring, an apartment complex ministry with VBS and soccer camps, and later a worship time and feeding. We started visiting and went on several mission trips to help other churches in Montana reach out to their community. And now God has called us to Great Falls to serve Him through this church of loving and caring people, who have a heart for Jesus. We are excited and anxious to hit the field, running, depending on Christ for everything. He has loved us and gave Himself for us, and we press on, through His grace. We are excited to see how the Lord will help us here for His glory.
